Paramount has also announced that there will be another South Park film released a month later in December, but no specific date has yet been revealed.

This will be the first time Stan, Kenny, Kyle and Cartman have landed on Paramount’s new streaming platform.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker signed a deal with the company earlier this year worth $ 900 million. As part of the deal, the two legends have pledged to make the iconic show through at least Season 30 and produce 14 made-for-television films.

South Park: Post Covid is the first of this program of more than a dozen films.

VShris McCarthy, president of MTV Entertainment studios, revealed that in addition to all this, the company works with them on some new original content.

McCarthy said in a statement: “Matt and Trey are world-class creators who brilliantly use their outrageous humor to confuse the absurdities of our culture and we’re excited to extend and deepen our long relationship with them to help power Paramount + and Comedy Central.

Franchise marquee content as South Park and developing new intellectual property with huge talents like Matt and Trey, is at the heart of our strategy to continue to grow Paramount +. “

They look forward to bringing their ideas to life in the future.

“Comedy Central has been our home for 25 years and we are so happy that they have made a commitment to us for the next 75 years..

“When we got to ViacomCBS with a different way of producing the show during the pandemic, Chris (McCarthy), Nina (Diaz), Keyes (Hill-Edgar) and Tanya (Giles) immediately supported us and allowed us to try something new that turned out to be really well received.

We can’t wait to get back to the traditional South Park episodes, but now we can also try new formats. It’s great to have partners who will always try their luck with us. “
