“Books were my bible,” says Robert Aramayo for Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Bollywood News

Like the story of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power progresses week by week, audiences get to witness Elrond’s wildly popular formative years in the Second Age of Middle-earth. Directed by Robert Aramayo, he plays a younger version of the half-elf long before the Tolkien character everyone knew and loved. Robert Aramayo has deciphered how he saw Elrond and what preparations he went through to get into character.

“Books were my bible,” says Robert Aramayo for Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Talking about how the books helped him learn more about his character and connect with Elrond, Robert said. “Always for me, it was books. I have a real passion, especially for early Tolkien, with The Silmarillion, The Fall of Gondolin, The Children of Húrin, and Beren and Lúthien. These books were my bible. Elrond doesn’t appear in the First Age, but if you’re trying to determine something about his direct past, you can find him in there. I think Tolkien’s themes are so strong in his work on the First Age. You can learn a lot about what he wanted at times by looking at some of this work. It has always been very helpful.

Decoding Elrond further, he added, “There is no doubt that it is a very big undertaking and it can be overwhelming, but I think that is also true for Elrond. He is at a point in his life where the most famous acts he would be known for are those of his family. He’s in a situation where his brother created a country, basically. His parents saved the world. It’s a lot of pressure on him. At times, it is useful in many ways. It’s intimidating and scary, wanting people to like him, but also Mr. Tolkien and what he wanted. I really like Elrond and have always been very interested in him. While I’m her guardian, I just want to do the best I can.

three episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is now available to stream in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The Amazon Original series will have weekly releases every Friday with an epic conclusion on October 14.
