Batman Fans Very Excited About Movie’s Deleted Scene

The Batman has officially hit cinema screens, and the buzz surrounding it has only grown. Fans are already digging into the details of the Easter eggs in the movie and eagerly awaiting a sequel announcement.

Many moviegoers are also waiting for the film’s deleted scenes to drop, one of which features Barry Keoghan (Eternals, Dunkirk), who is credited in the film as “Unseen Arkham Prisoner” – many believe this prisoner to be Batman’s infamous villain, the Joker.

Speaking to Tech Radar, The Batman director Matt Reeves spoke about this deleted scene: “There are scenes that we cut that I liked. In fact, there is a scene with the invisible prisoner (Keoghan), which appears at the end of the film at Arkham [Asylum] with the Riddler.

“There was a previous scene where Batman went to Arkham to try to profile the Riddler, and Barry is in that scene.

“It’s a really cool scene, and I’m sure we’ll post the scene after the movie comes out, because it’s a really cool deleted scene.”

The scene taking place in Arkham Aslyum added to the belief that Keoghan would play the Joker in later films.

This would parallel Christopher Nolan’s Black Knight trilogy, which also ended its first film by teasing the imminent arrival of the Joker.

Keoghan would be the latest actor to play the iconic villain in recent years. Jared Leto played the role in 2016 suicide squad while Joaquin Phoneix won an Oscar for his portrayal of the character in the 2020s Joker.

In Nolan’s trilogy, the Joker was played by the late Heath Ledger. The Joker is considered by many to be Ledger’s finest performance, and he was posthumously awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Fans will have to wait for the deleted scene to see if their theory turns out to be correct.

Reeves’ movie is also full of other iconic Batman villains. The Penguin and the Riddler both appear in the film, played by Colin Farrell and Paul Dano respectively. Anti-hero Selina Kyle, better known as Catwoman, also has a starring role, this time played by Zoë Kravitz.

A sequel has yet to be officially announced, but fans are already eagerly awaiting any information.
